Who you're agreeing with

RunQuest is operated by Mindful Runner (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa. By creating an account or using the app, you're agreeing to these terms with Mindful Runner (Pty) Ltd.

Assumption of outdoor-activity risk

RunQuest sends you running, walking or moving outdoors in real locations, on real streets and trails, around real traffic and terrain. That carries inherent risk — from the environment, from other people, and from the physical activity itself. By using RunQuest, you acknowledge and accept that risk. RunQuest provides intel, guidance and design choices (see our safety page) aimed at reducing risk, but the responsibility for your own safety while moving through the real world stays with you. Follow local laws, traffic rules, and your own judgment at all times — the game never overrides them.

Fair play and anti-cheat

Leaderboards, territory, and any stakes attached to gameplay depend on runs being genuine. Spoofing location, tampering with telemetry, or otherwise gaming the system to falsify results is a breach of these terms and may result in run invalidation, leaderboard removal, or account suspension.

Creator content responsibility

If you create quests, checkpoints, threats, or other content on RunQuest, you're responsible for that content — including its accuracy, its safety (respecting no-go zones and reasonable route choices), and that you have the right to use any media you upload. RunQuest may remove content that breaches these terms or poses a safety risk.

Third-party courses and locations

Quests and events are authored over real-world locations that RunQuest does not own, control, or maintain. We are not liable for the condition of any course, trail, road, park, or other third-party location used in a quest or event. Organisers and creators are responsible for confirming they have any necessary permission to route a quest through a given location.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mindful Runner (Pty) Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of RunQuest, including injury sustained while participating in outdoor activity, subject to the assumption-of-risk acknowledgement above.

Changes to these terms

We'll update this page as the product and our legal review evolve, and mark the version accordingly. This is version 1.
